frequently asked questions

Is Core to Community only for people who worked at the Lincoln Road store?

No. Membership is open to any current or former Apple employee—any store, office, or team.

Do I have to be a former employee, or can current Apple employees join too?

Both. “Past and present” is baked into the group—current Apple employees are welcome, with one rule: no work-related topics or confidential Apple matters at events.

Is this affiliated with Apple Inc.?

No. Core to Community is an independent organization, not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.

Do I need to live in South Florida to join?

No—Core to Community now has a flagship Miami chapter and an Orlando chapter starting shortly, with the directory open to alumni anywhere. National expansion continues from there.

Will there be chapters outside of Florida?

That’s the long-term plan—Miami is the founding chapter, Orlando is starting soon, and more chapters are possible as the group grows.

Is there a cost to join?

No. Membership is free.

How do I join?

Register on the site—the “Join” button on the homepage.

What do I get as a member?

List your business in the alumni directory, plus invitations to monthly in-person events, job board access, and educational/mentorship resources.

What happens at events—is it just networking?

Networking plus connection, business support, and mentorship opportunities. No Apple work talk or confidential matters—that’s a hard rule, especially for current employees attending.

What is the alumni directory?

A public, searchable listing of Apple alumni businesses and individuals—so members can find each other, hire each other, and refer each other.

Do I need a business to be listed?

No. The directory includes freelancers and individuals, not just formal businesses.

How do I get listed in the directory?

There’s no public registration form on the site. Join the group first—you’ll get the directory listing link emailed to you.

Can I update my listing after it’s published?

Not self-service yet—email the team to make a change.
